Cabin - Fall 2011

  • Quick Snack
    The cabin is always fun, but it sure is colorful in Fall. I went with mom & dad in late September and in late October to work on some projects upstairs.

    Happy Birthday to Kelly! You would never know this was October. It was WARM and provided a perfect opportunity to celebrate outside.

June '11 in Colorado

    Off to visit Joan to help her paint her kitchen. This is the first trip I've taken where I didn't bring a camera and relied solely on my phone's camera. In fairness, this is the first time I've had a phone with a camera. We saw a lot of stuff but only photographed a small portion of it. We were just too busy!

The National Zoo

  • One Big Happy Family
    The zoo was a nice little walk from our hotel and I went there twice. I was there in the late afternoon but left shortly after getting there since it was nearly deserted and a bit creepy. The 2nd time was in the morning and it was buzzing with activity.

Spring in Washington DC 2011

  • Capitol Hill in Spring
    I wanted a separate album to capture the beauty of Spring in DC. We had days of sunshine and days of rain but the marks of Spring were EVERYWHERE!

Vienna We're done with the cruise and on to our mini-vacation in Vienna, Austria. 

Grossmuetti - Irma Weder-Keusch - my dad's cousin (Marlies Luescher) sent me these pictures of my dad's mom from her party in 1994.  We affectionately called her Farm Grossmuetti to distinguish her from my mom's mom who lived in the city.

Pete's August 1st Party 2009:  Pete hosted family and friends over for an August 1st celebration where we celebrated our Swiss heritage.

Palm Desert - July 2009:  Uncle Mel and Aunt Ellen graciously hosted Traci, Erika, Mikayla and me for a few days in their beautiful Palm Desert home.  It was HOT, HOT, HOT but thankfully their pool and A/C kept us from shriveling up.

Kelly March 29, 2009:  We celebrated John's birthday and it was fun seeing Kelly at 5 1/2 months.

Andre Rieu Concert 2009:  The whole family (well, except baby Kelly) was invited to the Andre Rieu Concert.  This was Keri's coming out party. She was in love with Andre and his music and grew up listening to him and dancing to his music.  Now it was time to see him live and she was thrilled. 

Sepuleveda Garden Fail with Dad and Keri:  dad marched with his daughter and granddaughter to a little garden Fair in Sepulveda.  We had a nice little outing together.

Denver With Joan Dec '10

  • Farewell!
    Joan and I agreed on an unusual trip. I would fly to Denver but instead of going to her home we would spend the weekend together in downtown Denver to enjoy the festivities and atmosphere of the 16th Street Mall. We had a fantastic long weekend. I loved being in a town where you don't need a car (though we had one). We either walked or took a free shuttle/bus where we needed to go. We will DEFINITELY have to do that again! There was no snow but it was magical nonetheless and, as Joan wisely noted, snow could have been a problem anyway. There was no risk of my flights being delayed or canceled and we got to enjoy roaming around with ease. Yes, it was very cold but that added to the atmosphere.

Keri's Christmas Concert 2010

  • Kelly Busies Herself
    Keri's school put on a Christmas Concert. Each class stood together and different classes participated in different songs. It was a real delight to see the kids and to enjoy Keri's enthusiastic singing. There were hand movements for several songs and it was just a nice, fun evening. Just yesterday mom played the video of the concert; it was professionally recorded from a booth at the back of the church and it was a fun reminder of that evening. Celebrating 50

  • Home Again
    The girls agreed turning 50 was special so we arranged a weekend in Palm Springs. Joanne flew down from Washington and Kathy drove the five of us to Palm Springs for a fabulous weekend of gabbing, eating, shopping, and relaxing.
